Rodos, thanks for the continued great UCS coverage.
As Aaron asked, does anyone know if this is supported by VMware yet? Here is a VMware Tech Note that talks about how to do it but it mentions that ESXi PXE boot is experimental: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsp_4_pxe_boot_esxi.pdf
Also wondering if ESXi PXE boot is a supported option on Cisco UCS with Palo adapters?
I was able to get this working on UCS and yes it is still considered experimental. I've followed up with VMware directly and seems like they acknowledge a number of challenges with the stateless model in general which they are working on correcting. I'd venture a guess to hear a fully supported statelss modle to be coming out early next year.
Can you provide some details behind this? I've was working on getting this to work today as well and had hit a few problems.
ReplyDeletedefinitely send some details about how you did it
ReplyDeleteI was also wondering if this is fully supported by VMWare. I have heard that PXE is only experimentally supported right now. Cna you comment on that?
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
